Streaming Radio is basically one-way audio transmission over a data network. It is widely used on the Internet to deliver audio on demand or an audio broadcast (Internet radio). Unlike sound files (WAV, MP3, etc.) that are played after they are downloaded, streaming audio is played within a few seconds of requesting it, and the data is not stored permanently in the computer.
Streaming Radio will allow you to listen to any radio station from around the World at a very good quality. Obviously this is defendant on whether the radio station has a website and is providing a live audio feed.
For an example of Streaming Radio please see our Internet Radio link from the menu on the left.
The quality of the audio will depend on the speed of your computer and it's health, any internal networking (for example office network or wireless home network) and ultimately the quality of your Broadband and it's bandwidth.
