IPTV stands for Internet Protocol TV.  IPTV is a system where a digital television service is delivered by using Internet Protocol over a network infrastructure, which may include delivery by a broadband connection.  A general definition of IPTV is television content that, instead of being delivered through traditional broadcast and cable formats, is received by the viewer through the technologies used for computer networks.

The main benefits of IPTV is the ability to watch TV progammes and films on-demand and when you want to.  Tiscali is on such company that is offering such a service.

Channel 4 have also launched 4oD (Channel 4 on Demand).  4oD is simply another way to get your TV hit, 24/7.  Download thought-provoking documentaries, award winning drama or great comedy.  Simply download and install the 4oD player and away you go.
