You may have read a few weeks ago about a 70% global fall in the levels of junk mail after US ISP's teamed up to shut down McColo Corporation, after evidence was presented that the company was host to spam kings.
Obviously this is great news for everyone, but don't think this the begining to the end of Spam, because it is not. Spam will return and infact it has started already.
We have had reports of new Spam emails coming through where the Spam itself contains a single image and appears to be sent by the recipitent. As a result some Spam filters, including our own, are having initial troubles in identifying these emails as Spam. Due to the lack of content within the image, the scanners may not pick these up the first few times, but over time with various continuious checks the Spam filters will start to kick back in.
